SIM technology is slowly undergoing a new transformation in the world. From regular SIM to micro-SIM and nano-SIM, it’s time to move on to eSIM technology. The technology eliminates the need for physical SIM and is slowly being adopted by smartphone manufacturers. Of course, there are many challenges until this feature becomes mainstream and many parts of the world do not offer it right now. For Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 holders in the United States, the feature is now available.
Those looking forward to eSIM support for the expensive foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, it’s time to rejoice. Through a new software update, Samsung introduces eSIM support in the country. The technology will work with Dual SIM and Dual Standby.
Unlocked and T-Mobile Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 variants receive eSIM support, while others will join soon
Those interested should look for the F926USQU1DVEE firmware version for the T-Mobile Galaxy Z Fold3 and the F711USQU2DVEE for the T-Mobile Galaxy Z Flip3. Meanwhile, those rocking Unlocked smartphones will look for F926U1UEU1DVEE and F711U1UEU2DVEE, respectively. Unfortunately, other devices that are locked by a carrier do not yet receive the same treatment. Anyway, now that the floodgates are open, it’s only a matter of time before the feature reaches them.
Updates are currently circulating gradually. Therefore, you will probably need to wait a few hours for the operation on your smartphone. It may take a few days or more to arrive, but it will eventually come. Dual-SIM eSIM support lets you have a physical SIM and an eSIM running at the same time.
It is worth noting that the update has more to offer. They offer camera improvements, new features and optimizations. In addition, Samsung is keeping pace and bringing June 2022 security patches to foldable smartphones.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is going to be replaced by a variant with significant upgrades in battery capacity. However, the device will last a long time for those who take care of it.
