There are several smartphones on the market that are considered “useless versions” for some. We often see these useless publications in the middle class and budget section. They often appear as New Year’s versions of older smartphones. However, it is not uncommon to see these pointless launches on the flagship. However, we can say that the Galaxy S21 FE was considered a pointless launch for some. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was a very successful device, but it took Samsung a long time to release the S21 FE due to the countless limitations in the manufacturing forces. The device was released just in January, a month before the Galaxy S22 series. Nevertheless, the company has not been done yet in this order and seems to be preparation a device that is even more controversial – a variant of the Galaxy S21 FE 4G with an extremely old chipset.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 4G Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, whether it is pointless or not, has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC at the wheel. This places the phone in the flagship category. It is also a cheaper flagship in the Samsung Galaxy S family. However, it is rumored that a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 4G is being built and may bring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G that is old at this point. This chipset started appearing on smartphones in 2022 and is present in older devices such as the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Realme 7 Pro.
The Galaxy S20 FE has a 4G variant and perhaps, Samsung believes that the Galaxy S21 FE is needed as well. We are still not sure if this chipset will make the device sell well in 2022. The Galaxy S20 FE 4G had the Exynos 990 which was not far from the Snapdragon 865, like the Snapdragon 720G from the SD 888. However, the the company can try to sell it with the AMOLED display, the design and the capabilities of the camera.
The new model was spotted by people at the Galaxy Club with model number SM-G990B2. The original 5G smartphone has the model number SM-G990B. The B2 was certified by Bluetooth SIG with Bluetooth 5.2 on board. It is an upgrade over the 5G model Bluetooth 5.0 support. The device was already registered by retailers in Europe, so its release seems to be imminent.
